Trainee Data Engineering Shama: ‘Give Yourself a Solid Technical Foundation with Young Mavericks’

During her bachelor Industrial Design and her master Computer Science, Shama (26) discovered her passion for data, technology, and engineering. After a simple application process, Shama began her Data Engineering traineeship at Young Mavericks. Now, eight weeks later, she reflects: “The traineeship helped me recognize my own value. Data Scientist Jason: “Young Mavericks taught me a lot of great technical skills”

Jason (27) was one of Young Mavericks’ first generation of Data Science trainees. “As a
Young Mavericks trainee, I could do all sorts of projects at the Chamber of Commerce and
the Consumers Association with other companies. The traineeship taught me so much – I
developed data and programming skills and learned how to arrive at customer-focused
solutions.”

Young Mavericks Encourages Employees to Travel Sustainably

Stimulate Sustainable Travel

Young Mavericks is joining the youth-driven movement to take ownership of the climate crisis by inspiring their employees to reduce their carbon footprint. Starting in 2020, Young Mavericks is adding a new employment benefit to stimulate more sustainable travel by discouraging the least sustainable means of travel: flying. From then on, anyone who does not use an aircraft within a calendar year will receive two extra vacation days. This policy rewards the employee for reducing their carbon footprint while also giving them the time and freedom to make a difference.
